I’m an owner-operator, not a corporate office. I’ve spent years on the truck, on the net, and behind the dolly — the same work our crews do today. That hands-on background shapes how Current Movers runs: every system, checklist, and piece of equipment we use exists because someone on a job said “there’s a better way to do this.” My partner Dakotah and I built this company on jobs we worked together, and we still show up to the hard ones ourselves.
I run two other companies alongside this one — DNA Denver and DeltaShift Solutions, an IT services firm — and I bring the same approach to all of them: do the work right, treat people like neighbors, and reinvest in the tools and team that make the next job better than the last.
Where your money goes
When you hire us, you’re not paying a franchise fee or feeding a private equity fund. Every dollar earned here goes back into a few specific things:
Better gear and safer trucks — including a planned transition to an electric fleet so your move costs less and costs the city less air to breathe
Crew compensation worth showing up for — the people carrying your couch should be people who want to be there
The free and open-source software that runs our businesses — every one of our companies runs on FOSS instead of expensive proprietary software, and through DeltaShift Solutions we contribute back to the projects we depend on. A portion of revenue flows through Open Collective to the maintainers building the tools that small businesses like ours actually rely on. Dakotah Macfarlane
I’m not new to this. I’ve been a professional mover for over a decade—on the truck, behind the wheel, and in the middle of the heavy lifts. I’m the person who shows up early, packs it right, and loads it like it’s going to matter 200 miles later (because it does). I care about clean work: tight wrap jobs, smart stacking, protected corners, and zero “we’ll deal with it later” shortcuts.
What I do best
I am the trainer behind It’s All Moving. Everyone who works on a crew goes through me first—hands-on instruction and real-world reps on packing standards, safe lifting, furniture protection, load strategy, and job site professionalism. It’s how we keep quality consistent: the person showing up to your home has been trained the same way, to the same standard.
Packing that prevents damage — pads, wrap, tape, and labeling done with intention so your stuff arrives the way it left.
Loading that doesn’t shift — balanced weight, secured stacks, and a plan so boxes don’t become furniture and furniture doesn’t become kindling.
Driving the truck safely — confident behind the wheel, careful with turns and stops, and focused on getting everything there on time and intact.
What you can expect from me
A calm, capable crew lead who treats your home with respect, communicates clearly, and handles the hard parts without making it your problem. If something’s heavy, awkward, tight, or high-stakes—I’m the one you want on it.
